We are Nannyke a Kenyan company with our registered offices located at 52863 -00200 Nairobi on Daggoretti RD. Within this Privacy Policy we will refer to this company as “the platform”, “we”, “us” and/or “our”.

Our Policy

1. Policy Purpose

The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to give you information on how Nannyke, the platform collects and processes your personal information when you use our websites, mobi-sites and software applications and accept any of the services available thereon (collectively referred to as the “Platforms”). It further informs you of your rights and choices with respect to your personal information and how you can contact us. By using any of our Platforms, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, please do not use any of the Platforms. What Is Personal Information

1. Definition

“Personal information” means any information relating to an identified or identifiable living individual. We may collect, use, receive, store, analyze, combine, transfer or otherwise process different categories of personal information.

2. Categories of Personal Information

  • Identity: Full Name, identity document, current employment, qualifications and photo.
  • Contact Information: Telephone number, email address, home address, chosen billing registered mobile numbers, information provided by you about your home, location, county and any reference information.
  • Payment Information: Payment and bank details, the date and amount of the transaction and other information provided by you directly.
  • Platform usage and Technical Information: Platform usage, information shared on the Platforms including any in-Platform chat function, technical or other details about any device which you use to access the Platforms (e.g., network connection, MAC, UDID, operating system, browser, device details, IP, time zone, geolocation, content/pages accessed and timestamps).
  • Marketing and Communications Information: Communication with customer service support, behavioural data (e.g., collected using cookies), information about promotions, surveys, competitions, promotional campaigns and records of your decision to subscribe or to withdraw from receiving marketing materials.

3. Non-Personal / Anonymized Data

We may also collect, use and/or share non-personal information or anonymized data such as statistical or demographic data derived from the Platform, e.g., to track total users, visitors and domain names of visitors’ internet service providers.

How We Collect Personal Information

1. Direct Collection

  • Registering for access as a user or service buyer on the Platforms and using them.
  • Registering as a Nanny or professional service provider on the Platforms.
  • Contacting us with enquiries.
  • Responding to our surveys or entering a competition, promotion or loyalty programme.
  • Requesting marketing materials to be sent to you.

2. Third Parties and Public Sources

  • Commercial partners to provide specific services offered on or through the Platforms.
  • Third parties who assist with business operations.
  • Social platforms or networks (with your permission or where permitted by law).
  • Affiliates and subsidiaries within the platform group (subject to applicable laws).
  • External reference agencies or third parties in accordance with applicable laws.
  • Publicly available sources, as permitted by applicable laws.

3. Important Notes

  • We do not accept unsolicited personal information unconnected with the Platforms and will delete it when identified (unless we are required to keep it).
  • You are responsible for any public publishing of information (e.g., on a discussion forum), which may be accessed by third parties.

Our Use of Your Personal Information

1. 1) For the successful operation of the Platforms

  • Verify, authenticate and authorise you during onboarding. If you wish to become a Service Provider, we will appropriately vet you (Identity and Contact information are typically required).
  • Implement and monitor bookings you make using the Platform.
  • Share your personal information as necessary to carry out services (e.g., providing contact details to a Service Provider or sharing a Service Provider’s profile and contact details with a user who booked and paid a deposit).

2. 2) To manage and implement the Platform

  • Present content effectively for your device.
  • Provide information, products or services you request or that may interest you.
  • Improve or modify the Platform based on your usage and requested services.
  • Calculate conversion rates and other performance elements.
  • Research market trends and develop/innovate technologies, products and services.
  • Analyse usage and compile internal statistical insights on an aggregate basis.
  • Improve and personalise our relationship with you.

3. 3) To manage our relationship with you

  • Carry out obligations arising between you and us.
  • Allow you to participate in interactive features when you choose to do so.
  • Notify you about changes to our Platforms or services, or any interruption.
  • Receive your feedback to improve or develop our Platforms.
  • Provide service assistance, problem resolution and send notifications related to the Platforms.

4. 4) For marketing purposes

We may use your personal information for marketing where you have consented. Each communication will include instructions to opt-out at any time.

Our Disclosure of Your Personal Information

We may share your personal information within the internal Nannyke group to provide or receive support and technical services, and to contribute to research, data analytics and studies to improve the Platform, products and services.

2. External Third Parties

  • Platform maintenance and ancillary support.
  • Service providers or vendors assisting with business operations.
  • Users or Service Providers of the Platforms as necessary to connect.
  • Corporate transactions (e.g., sale, merger, re-organisation) where personal information may be part of transferred assets.
  • Legal obligations: comply with law; protect rights or property; protect personal safety; protect against legal liability.

Security

1. Protection Measures

We take reasonable and industry standard steps to protect your personal information from loss, misuse, and unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction, and require third parties processing your information to do the same. Note that internet or email transmissions are not fully secure; any transmission is at your own risk. Keep your account name and OTP password confidential.

Storage and International Data Transfers

We may store information ourselves or in databases of affiliates, agents or service providers, and retain it as long as required for the purposes collected and by law. Where cross-border service providers or systems are used, we may transfer personal information cross-borders only to recipients with similar data protection laws or appropriate contractual safeguards.

We may contact you about services we believe will interest you where you have consented (e.g., requested information, subscribed, entered promotions). Each communication includes instructions to opt-out. We may provide advertisers with aggregate/anonymised information to target audiences; we do not disclose identifiable personal information to advertisers.

We use first- and third-party cookies to improve your experience (e.g., storing preferences, understanding usage via analytics like Google Analytics) and to provide relevant display advertising (e.g., Google Analytics Remarketing, Display Network Reporting, Demographics and Interest Reporting).

Most browsers allow blocking some or all cookies. You can also opt out of the Google Display Network via Ads Preferences Manager. Because many features use cookies, we recommend not blocking them.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18. If you are under 18, do not submit personal information and do not use the Platforms. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will endeavour to delete it.

This Privacy Policy applies only to the Platforms. The Platforms may contain links to other sites not operated or controlled by us. Those sites are governed by their own policies. Links do not imply endorsement. Please consult those sites for their policies.

2. Customer Details

Customer details will be stored by the platform separately from card details.

3. Gift Vouchers

Nannyke Gift Vouchers and Coupons are not redeemable for cash and will not be replaced if lost, stolen, destroyed or used without permission. They cannot be resold or exchanged with a third party and can only be redeemed online through the Platform or other official means.

4. Other Terms and Conditions

Your access to and use of the Platform is also subject to our Terms of Use.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

1. Updates

Our Platform and business may change from time to time, and we may update this Privacy Policy accordingly (e.g., to reflect changes in business or law). Any changes will be posted on this page and we will highlight any material changes. Your continued use of the Platform after changes indicates agreement with the revised terms.
